Nobody times the bottom — the research is brutal on that. What the data does support: buy when the price is reasonable against the company's own history (step 1) and the trend is not working against you (step 5), spread your entries over time, and size the position smaller the wilder the stock moves. Historically the average investor lost most by buying at peak attention — not by misreading a number.
